A new exciting collaboration which brings several different departments at NYU/Tisch together with the opera company Opera on Tap, as well as Montclair State University. The concept is to put students from the Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program (GMTWP), the Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP), and the Department of Design together in teams to create short operas for presentation inside a large dome-shaped immersive performance space. The spirit of the project is experimental, using the technological capabilities of the dome and the different perspectives of the three departments to inspire theatrical work which takes advantage of the dome's specificity, with the focus on experimentation and process.
